reasons why you would reset your town?

I have ten active towns and I have only reset once. It was my town of Paradise and I had foolishly thought I wouldn't mind the long trek to the Retail. I was wrong. The entire map just was awful and after Sitches moved out after a time traveling bungle which was entirely my fault, I was heartbroken. So after much deliberation and INTENSE guilt, I deleted the town. The only good part of the entire experience was that Stitches showed up via the Void in my daughter's town the next day. But yeah, I take restarting towns very seriously. Being a complete psycho, I really get attached to my villagers and deleting them or sending them to the Void always causes me pain and suffering.

I usually reset after I take an unintentional long break from playing and come back to some dream villagers moved out and unwanted villagers moved into bad spots. However I recently picked the game up again and didnt feel the need to reset now that it's easier to find dream villagers online and get rid of unwanted ones and I do like how my current town is still going.

The only reason that I'd reset my town would be to have a nicer layout, I don't really have any other problems with it.

I've reseted once.
First town, bad layout, bad town name, wanted to start something new anyway.
Second, bad town name and my sister ended up taking over, removing some of my favourite villagers and changing plans. I didn't want to reset it because she'd be upset so I got my own copy, I'm happy with my town name and the layout is great. I haven't really done anything with my town since Christmas but I'll be updating it soon.

The first time I reset, it was because I got a face that I thought was really ugly. Then I found out you could actually control what you looked like based on the answers you gave Rover.. So I reset. I had only put a month or two in, so it wasn't a huge loss. My boyfriend bought a copy of the game so I would have somewhere to dump all the stuff and bells I had acquired so I wouldn't have to start from scratch. But now that I've put in a billion amount of hours, I could never restart. I would rather just buy another copy of the game.

I reset a few times, I think maybe 4? Everytime it was a different reason, but when it came down to it, it was always because I was no longer having fun. That's my rule for Animal Crossing. If I'm not having fun anymore, then I need to reset. The reason why that is, is because it's hard for me to bring myself to go back to having nothing and starting all over again. However, I've come to the conclusion that if I payed a lil over 200 bucks for this 3DS+game, then I better get some enjoyment out of it for as long as humanly possible. I realized it's silly to stop playing game just because I'm no longer having fun, when that could easily be solved by resetting.

I'd reset my town if I ever got bored of it and wanted a new town name or layout. Once your town is just how you want it, and everyone's seen it and agreed that it's perfect, what's the point of playing anymore? Animal Crossing is a game that's all about the journey to me, and your end goal is just a reason to start that journey. Once you're done, you might as well start again!

In the past I've reset the towns cause I'm no longer into the theme I originally wanted to do and I can't change it because there are some elements (like the layout and the town's perfect fruit) that can't be changed without resetting.

The location of my campground I guess would be enough to make me reset. Right now i'm content with my town as it's still not built up all that much so I haven't come across anything that bothers me really. Placement of my house is also enough to make me reset too because it's a permanent thing and if I suddenly decide that i'd like to have a PWP in place of it, it does get on my nerves and is something that i'll constantly think about, so i'll probably reset if it ever comes to that point unless I find somewhere else to place the PWP. With the town hall, I always have a location in mind whenever i'm picking a new map so i'll always have somewhere I'll want it to go and that never changes during the development of my town usually.

I am actually about to reset my third town, which is something I've never done before. I'm willing to do it because I've only been playing it for a couple of months, and I really wasn't enjoying the original theme. I changed it to a seaside town and loved that, but the layout and character/town names don't fit at all, which has been bugging me.

I'm petty so it'd be something small like uneven plots or losing a favourite villager lmao. Once I reset because I didn't like my Mayor's name.... Maybe character eyes if you didn't know the questions determined your look, starting villagers, maybe not liking the layout (aka UNREACHABLE BEACHES, really grinds my gears) would be a few grounds to consider resetting. If you can do something to resolve it, its probably not that bad enough to trigger a reset, I like to tell myself ;) Everyone's different, I suppose.

With the Amiibo update, villagers won't move in over paths, so I've started to put 3x3 plots where I want villagers to move in when I'm expecting a new villager, hide the hybrids and then make sure there's no opportunity for them to massacre a flower bed.

I reset late last month. But I have 2 copies of the game, so resetting one isn't really a big deal.

In fact, resetting is why I bought a second copy. If you only have 1 town, you get really attached to it and the progress you made, even if you see things that you wish were better.

Never. My town is my town, I've had it since launch. It's perfect to me, even with all it's flaws. I can't think of anything that would make me reset. I once reset my WW town to 'make the game fun again' but it ruined things for me as I couldn't bring myself to care about the new town at all.

I actually reset recently with the sell your town feature.. hated my old map </3

I wasn't happy with my old town, and wanted to try recreating a new town with the same theme (fairy tale). I'm glad I did, I'm much happier with my map, the town name (Shinrin), my player (Naho), and their cockroach roomie (Ken). There are still plenty of things I'm not the biggest fan of in my town atm, but I'll just keep working on fixing those. :)
