The Bell Tree World Championship 2021 Patch
so i posted a thread in the airport as soon as i saw monty crafting the ironwood table to let people over, some people dropped tips and simple.

so i came outside to find all the tips gone, and someone had stolen them. i was so disappointed that i thought i could trust someone, not only am i upset, i'm upset for the people who left me tips only to have them be stolen. i have my suspicions on someone, but i'm not sure, and they said they didn't do it. it's really the first bad trading experience i've had with someone, it just makes me upset that people have the guts to steal things that aren't theirs :/

So sorry :( I think that it might help to get a friend to help if you open the island again, and then you can have one person in the house to check that your villager keeps crafting, and one person to pick up the tips.

If you post your wishlist, maybe some of us can give you gifts to help show off the nicer side of the community?

dang i’m sorry to hear that. that’s why i’m sceptical about not having eyes on my visitors constantly - while 99% of people on here are lovely, there’s unfortunately always a bad apple lurking ;u;

Do you remember your tips? I can help give some if you'd like. Nothing needed in return.

I think I was on your island earlier, I was really worried about the NMT on the ground but I thought you'd pick them up after each visit.

If you want, I can visit you again and give you 2 NMT again. I have a lot of NookMiles to spare right now.

that's so awful- i don't understand why people steal, especially in a game! the ac economy is a mess rn and kind people like you are doing their best to offer what they can for free, and the fact that some people don't appreciate that and go even further by taking (stealing!) even more from the kind people makes me so angry :c

please lmk if there's anything i can help w! (paying off a loan, any wishlist items, etc.)

That's horrible! I'd never steal no matter what it was! I wouldn't want someone to steal from me after all! Hey ya want something? I could give you something!

that sucks to hear! i'm so sorry that happened. when i visit someone who's having several people over i tend to ask what they're wearing so i can drop the tip right at their feet; if you dare to open your island for several people again in the future, maybe you can direct them to drop tips in front of you specifically?

Thats so disappointing, I wish people were more honest. If you can figure out who it was, be sure to leave negative feedback!

Sorry that a nasty individual ruined something for you. This is why you need to pick up things--always pretend there's a nasty one in your midst. Hopefully they see this and feel bad. They probably won't, though.

When I open up my island, I ask for each and every person to list their name and island name, so if they were to do something against my rules, I could give them negative feedback (Which I did end up having to do, sadly.)
I recommend you pick up tips the moment they set them down! Or even have a friend come by and help you watch visitors and make sure they're not up to no good!

this is gross :C
you really should report them if you are that suspicious. its really easy for a guilty person to say it wasn't them :/ especially if they are new to bell tree-it protects the rest of us.

So sorry this happened to you! Also a shame that you’re not sure who it was so that you could leave them negative feedback. I had someone steal my fruit when I let them in for villager crafting but, thankfully, I was able to report them.

I hope you have better experiences from here on out. Most people here are lovely!

I've always been suspicious of people, so usually I keep my eye on them or have a friend over, but if you have too many people over it's hard to keep track of people.
I never mind people taking my fruit, but I do mind them not asking! Like at the very least ask, cause - at least in my case - I really don't mind!

That's such pathetic, cowardly behavior. Seriously, how can a person be so greedy that not only do they get a recipe for free because someone graciously opened their town to them, but then they go and steal from that person on top of that. I guess a free diy was not enough?

I know from experience irl that these kinds of encounters where someone takes advantage of your kindness are very upsetting and can make you bitter about helping others. I'm really sorry you had to experience that. If we can help replace any bells or items you lost please let us know.

Some people have no shame! Sorry this happend to you and i hope it wont turn you off doing trades, if it is something you enjoy. I am thinking about getting an online subscription soon because i really want to experince trading with others more. I am still thinking about what way would be best to go about hosting something like this. Maybe doing one person at a time even if it takes longer? or pick up tips and fees asap.

Yeah, that’s just it: if he didn’t have certain kinds and wanted to shake a tree or two, all he had to do was ask! Fruit isn’t even a big source of income for me. But no, he literally picked every tree he could clean in the short period of time he was on the island. And I know it was him, because there was only one other person on the island at the time and I was with them while he was wandering around.

Most people I let on to the island are really kind and respectful, even if they do have a look around, but I feel like it should be common knowledge not to shake other people’s trees without permission.

I'm so sorry this happened! This is why my usual go to tips are hybrid flowers. Once I plant them, only the island owner or a best friend of the owner can dig them up, and even if someone steals the blossoms they grow back quickly.
