So you know those reactions villagers will give to you every now and then? I am just today finding out that they are tied to specific personality types. For instance, Cranky personality type villagers will teach you my favorite reaction: Bewilderment.

This much I think we can confirm based on what I have read. At least in the beginning of the game, when you don't have that many reactions. But later, I think, if you have too many reactions then you will begin to learn them regardless of the personality type restriction. But I can't confirm this, which is why I made this thread.

I've got a friend that says he has all of the reactions despite not having a Snooty in his town for a really long time. This leads me to believe that you don't need every personality type in your island to get all of the reactions.

What do you guys think? Can you confirm or deny these claims?

I can't confirm but I have read something similar so really not sure at this point.

i read somewhere that you can get any reactions from villagers but certain personalities are more likely to give you certain reactions

Yes, they’re all personality exclusive. 1 reaction for each personality requires high friendship to get.

Hmm, Blanche gave me a reaction the other day and she just moved here. Unless you are saying that there are reactions that are only given to you if you have high enough friendship with someone?

Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m saying lol. Each personality type gives 5 total reactions. 1 of those reactions is locked until you reach a high friendship level with the villager, where it then enters the pool for random selection when a villager decides to teach you a reaction.
