Raymond the cat like or dislike?

I like him and have him, but I'm lowkey sick of reading posts that are about him, complaining about him, how he brings out the toxicness of some people etc. constantly.

It stinks there's not too many smugs I like and that he's hard to obtain right now because I'd probably replace him if the right opportunity comes up.

I don't have anything against him, but nor do I want him on my island (He's not really a villager I seek).

But my opinion the whole selling ordeal with him is as the old saying goes: "Don't hate the player (Raymond), hate the game"

I don’t care about him one way or the other, but I do find the lengths people will go to to profit off him pretty disturbing. Hopefully the Amiibo cards will make their way back to the West, too, and everybody who wants him will be able to pay a reasonable price for him.

I like him, but he's not one of my absolute favorites. There are other smug villagers that I prefer.

He's ok. Design-wise, he's fairly unique with that business cat aesthetic goin on. More unique than Marshal anyway - Marshal's cutesy but other than looking like a marshmallow he's got relatively little substance. Raymond's... not necessarily cutesy, but he makes Rover look like he's supposed to be a normal cat villager rather than a special character. A lot of detail went into Raymond, which isn't often the case, especially for older villagers in the series who just have big black dots for eyes - I think of Sandy, Blaire, etc and how basic they look by comparison. Granted they came from games with less room for graphical detail. You had a few flavorful ones - Static, Ketchup, Woolio - but most of them weren't like that.

Personality-wise, Raymond represents everything I hate about the NH smug personality. I play AC to get away from the soulless corporate world I'm studying to enter, I don't want to hear your snotty blabber about focus grouping while you sit in your depressing office house darn it

I definitely don't think he fits in at all with people's cutesy pink pastel islands, he's just there cause he's famous. Marshal would be a much better fit. I used to be a Marshal hater back in the NL era, but given the lot of smugs and how I don't really like... any of them (except kinda Rodney which isn't saying much) I can understand the appeal of the one or two cuter ones.

He’s just meh to me. I love the cat villagers, but he isn’t really anything that special to me. His design is basic. There’s way cuter cats out there, and way cuter smugs. Over all he isn’t terrible but just not my taste. I really hate the craziness surrounding him though.

I think he looks cool. I'll try to seek him out, but if I don't it's not a deal breaker. There are other smugs I wanna try out.

The only smug that I really love is Pietro. Raymond isn't bad, I'm just indifferent on most Cat villagers (I'm more of a sheep type of person lol).

I think he's cute, but I wouldn't go wild trying to get him like some people have on stream and on these forums. Raymond is not that important to me. I have Colton in my town and I think he's pretty charming and an underappreciated smug. He has total prince vibes. However, that being said, I would still ask Raymond to move in though if I seen him when island hopping since he's a cat and has a nice design. It is kind of similar to how when I was island hopping and found Fauna I couldn't resist even though I hadn't originally wanted another normal personality type since I had two others. Some villagers are too cute to pass up even if they are popular. I'll let fate decide whether he becomes a resident or not once someone moves.

I love Colton too! I think hes really cute and deserves more attention.
