I started thinking more intensely about decorating those few empty spaces around my island, and that turned into ideas that would require demolishing and rebuilding a few other already finished areas. Obviously I'm not going to do that, but I got overwhelmed just thinking about it and my slight enthusiasm for decorating kinda died already

I’m beginning to clear out some of the excess trees to create a park/picnic area with a gazebo and that thing with the flowers draping down from the roof. Still trying to figure out where to plant the bamboo shoots I have to create a zen garden and how to make a large single tiered waterfall.

So, after you get past the snow the brown grass sounds all squishy when you walk on it, like the grass on the vine islands. I guess it takes a while to dry out.

I find it weird that coelacanths don’t spawn in the snowy weather this game. They used to do that in Wild World, City Folk, and New Leaf.

Yep, that’s one of the main reasons why I’m looking forward to the snow melting away tomorrow, at least specifically in New Horizons.

I recently installed a mod for the GC. It adds a bunch of stuff and QOL features, but one of the things that it does — is allows coelacanths to spawn in the snow, which explains why I was able to catch one a few nights ago, despite the snow not going away in these games until tomorrow.

With it being the year of the horse and having fun with voting for the horse villagers. Starting to think about temporarily changing my all penguin island to an all horse island.

I wasn't sure if I was the only one getting a lot of those. This is the dumbest thing to make people craft. You either have to have them lying around or order them. And since there's only a 5 order limit you can't do much else.

They could also appear on the small counter at Nook's Cranny too, I believe.
I have been hoping for a day when they are selling it, so far not a single day (I even Time Travel). But I was able to get the shopping basket and books for just in case.

Okay genuine question I have here
I've been seeing some photos in the video essays I watch for animal crossing with photos of some of the older special characters in new horizons. Does that have to do with amiibos? I have a feeling that's the situation with the ones in Phototopia
It might be a mod but I'm unsure

I just ignore those requests and fill the ones I want to do. They'll refresh the next week with new ones.

Okay genuine question I have here
I've been seeing some photos in the video essays I watch for animal crossing with photos of some of the older special characters in new horizons. Does that have to do with amiibos? I have a feeling that's the situation with the ones in Phototopia

Flower hybridization seems all kinds of odd. I have two pure red flowers making pink ones, orange tulips making black ones, a white tulip sprung up with a pink baby. I never saw this kind of randomness in the previous game.

Yea the flower breeding is kinda weird. I still find myself looking up a guide sometimes when trying to get specific colors.

And the guide I have bookmarked is based on the original. It's kind of nice to have something unexpected, though. It's too easy to get into a rut.

Thinking of hybrids, any tips on getting green mums? I have a patch of purple mums I've been watering forever and it's just not happening. Every guide I've seen says you combine purples. Very low chance maybe? It's the only hybrid color I'm still missing besides blue roses (I have already given up on that one).

Yea , it really is nice. I wasn’t looking at guides to begin with so it was nice seeing what would pop up. Most of the time I wasn’t excepting what I got.

I think green mums is a really low chance. It took me forever to get any. Even when I finally did get some it still takes forever for ones I did get to breed more.

I gave up on the blue rose for a while. Then one day I randomly found one. It was such a nice surprise when it finally showed up.

I think I am just gonna to buy the models for the coelacanth and golden stag on here.

These are incredibly rare creatures, so I don’t want to push my luck with them. The golden stag won’t be out until July anyway. I rather just sell everything after donating them to the museum.

Besides, I do want to get all of the host and visitor and achievements eventually, so I’m just gonna take advantage of that by getting some help with the models and other things.
