Random Question: How Do You Make A Villager Leave?

Hey all! So, I have some villagers I do not want in my town anymore and I was wondering if there were any "sure proof" ways to make them move out faster? I'm not sure how to go about it but I have read several sources claiming some methods to get them to move out but I've tried those methods and still nothing. I currently have 8 villagers in my town. If anybody knows anything, help would be very much appreciated! Thank You!

I personally believe that as always, it's just random. Even villagers you're friends with will move when randomly selected by the game. I know others suggest being mean and ignoring, but I've yet to find evidence of that working in AC games

If you're a TT'er, just keep TT'ing day-by-day until they're thinking about moving.
