Questions about villagers moving in/out

So I know I can force villagers to move out via amiibo card or campsite, but if I go to another players island can I convince a villager in boxes to move in and force another one of my villagers out?

No, they will not prompt the move-in dialogue unless you have a free spot in your town.

You need a free plot to adopt someone in another town.
