I've been seeing more posts about "trading TBT for" xyz and I want to learn more about the ins and outs of what exactly is this TBT currency and how you'd go about getting it.

TBT Is the forum's currency, you may earn by making posts or in the Bell Tree Directs will have giveaways of bells or get from trades or gifts from other players. Then they can either be used for buying collectibles from the forum's shop or use to trade to other players. The amount that you have can be shown under you Username when you post or under Shop in upper corner of the forum and then the click ABD

Yes, Where says Shop and has the bell bag next to it and I miss saying this earlier , it also says you balance at the bottom when you click on shop
