my daughter has wanted this game for awhile now and i fear i may only be able to find a used copy(gamestop) since its fairly old now.i just have a few questions. well mainly one.

is there any downside to it(used copy)?

i've seen you can delete/restart but is there any gamebreaking faults? i noticed a "game ban" is that cartridge or nintendo id?

basically if i buy a used copy will she be able to get the full experience of this great game?

im sorry if this a repeated question btw.

it'll be fine! the only way it could in any way diminish the experience is if the cartridge is glitched, and that is INCREDIBLY rare. I got my first Animal Crossing game pre-owned!

You can, however, buy new copies in-store from Target, Best-Buy, etc. Theyre still around!!

I think that a used copy will work just fine and at its full potential so long as the previous owner did nothing to corrupt it! GameStop offers some sort of insurance or a few days after purchase in which you can return it (I know they have something along these lines but I don't know what it is specifically!) so you could return it and get your money back if the game is somehow corrupted.

You could also probably order a new one online somewhere, even though the game itself isn't very new. I am also fairly sure Wal-Mart still sells it in their 3DS games section (since it is so popular).

Everything should work out okay. I'd delete everything for sure before starting the game. You never know who owned it beforehand. I bought a used copy of Smash Bros. and went online with friends only to find some very rude preset taunts on there.

I bought my daughter a used copy from my local game shop. It was incredibly cheap, considering a new copy is still nearly full price on Amazon. It was almost brand new, there was no wear on the cart or anything. I had a quick look at it, before she restarted it, and it was someone who had played for a short time and obviously got bored of the game. It happens.

That was the second used copy I bought. I also bought myself a used cart only to use as a cycle town. Nothing has gone wrong with either copy. And in both cases, when I checked the previous game it was obvious it was just someone who had played for a short while then just sold it.

Good luck finding your copy and I hope your daughter enjoys the game. Mine does, she hardly puts it down!

I own a used copy of ACNL... I was a bit skeptic about the game at first since it is my first AC game. now I completely worship the Animal Crossing series.

It wouldnt matter if you bought used or brand new :D

Buying used copies is completely fine. Back in the WW days I did get a glitched pre owned copy, but it's incredibly rare for it to happen. Because it's so rare, I put it on my shelf to show my friends.

thank all of you for responding. i can be easily dissuaded but this makes feel more confident in purchasing it in any form i can find it....if need be feel free to delete this thread if it is considered cluttersome.

Be aware that new is easy to find and only $30, so don't pay nowhere near that amount if you are going to buy it used.
