I was thinking about buying a new animal crossing new leaf game ( i already have one) and the question is that if i move out my non-mayor character and make her move into a new town, can i still map reset for a good map??..

tell me if that doesn't make sense :/

I honestly don't think it's possible. I've done the process once, and the non-mayor-character data is transfered directly over, and then the copy being transfered to goes straight into Rover's dialogue.

The data doesn't seem to be re-transmittable, so I believe that if you were to turn off the game to map reset, the transferred character data would be gone. More importantly, it could not be re-sent.

Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone, but that's my understanding of this process, having done it once.

To be safe, I would create a character and transfer THEM over instead of the character that you really want and test it to see. that way, if like the above poster said, you do happen to lose the character and not get it back it will not matter .

Then once you see if you can or not, transfer the actual character over as mayor after a quick reset ^_^

Yes you can.Once you transfer your non-mayor character it's just like any town reset. You can reset for a preferred map or villagers .
