QUESTION- Do you have multiple copies of AC:NL?

I have two copies. Lol, I couldn't imagine having more than that really.
One is my main town aka the town I actually play in normally and work on from a pwp/theme standpoint.

The second is mainly for cycling villagers. I originally was running a cycling thread with another girl
on a different forum but I've gone on a hiatus because it gets to be very time consuming. I still cycle a bit and it's nice because I can grow tons of perfect fruit and sell it in my main town for a reasonable profit. It's also nice to have a town I can get signatures or take Katie if I can't find a friend playing that day.

I've heard about cycling, would someone care to explain it? XD

Basically cycling is, in a nutshell, moving villagers in your town and time traveling (using the in game clock) to move them out for others or for yourself. Some people cycle to help others out and give them free villagers or some do it to sell certain villagers and make money that way. Of course typically all people cycling will be keeping an eye out for their favorites usually as well. Cycling can be very tedious but rewarding when you're helping someone find their "dreamies".

I have 2. The first one is my main town, and the second one I use for:

- Obtaining my dream villagers. Instead of paying millions of bells for Julian, I just used the reset trick to get him in my second town (only took 2 resets or something), then I can transfer him over to my main town, and use the reset trick there to get his house in the place I want. I've done this with other dream villagers too.
- Extra storage. I have a lot of trouble storing everything, and I have a hard time selling non-orderables, so sometimes I just take them over to my second town to store them there, instead of cluttering my main town.
- Selling perfect fruit. My main town has tons of perfect apple trees, and my second town's ordinance is set to Bell Boom, so I can take my hundreds of perfect apples over there every couple days and make about 2 million bells every time. (I could of course do this with other peoples' towns, but not everyone has the Bell Boom Ordinance, or would feel like having me over to their town every couple days!)
- Growing more hybrids than I could usually.
- Obtaining more saplings and such than I could usually.
- Potentially having another town to design. Right now I only design one town, but once my main town is more "complete," I could start to work on another town. My main town is fairy-tale themed, so it might be nice to have another town with a different theme/feel one day!

What's this "reset" trick?

What's this "reset" trick?

It's when you load the game with a new character on days when you're expecting a new villager to move in, and save the game with the new character if the villager/house plot location is to your liking, or keep resetting and loading with a new character if the villager/house placement is not to your liking. Here's a video from a user at TBT that explains it more!

I only have 1 copy. My brother may get a copy for Christmas, but that would be his, so it wouldn't exactly be mine (although he'd probably get bored and then I'd take over, muahaha!)
I wish I could get a second copy, to cycle maybe, but my family thinks it's crazy for one person to get multiples of the same game, so never gonna happen.
