May seem like a silly or obvious question but I don't actually use Club Nintendo, so...

I'm pretty sure you can because the wii was invented the same year when club Nintendo opened:)

What about Wii U? I think they made it harder to register if I remember correctly.

"PIN # is subject to expiry five years from initial release date"

There you go.

Check the card, it should say when it expires. From what I know, all CN codes expire after 5 years.

From release date? If that's the case it expired in 2011. Oh well.
Release date +5 years yes.

I think when I connected my wiiu to my nintendo account (to use eshop) it automatically gave me my na coins for it. Pretty sure thats what happened. I didn't really input a code anywhere.. it just happened and showed up on my CN

Ah yeah, but I wanted to sell it. Not use it myself.

I don't know. I'm sorry... Mine didn't come with a code card (Brand new out of the box on amazon)... It just registered when I hooked it up completely.

If yours came with a CN card then it should have a expiration date. You could also got to CN itself. DO not log in to a account. Plug the pin into the pin section of the site and it should pop up if you want to register it. Don't click that you do though. This should tell you if it's still good ><

You get CN points from registering the console, and making a new Club Nintendo account. Is this what your meaning? I'm sorry, I am quite confused by your explanation.
