Question about welcome amiibo villagers

I want dobie as a dreamie but I don't have his amiibo card, is there anyway I can get him if someone else has the card? Would they have to invite them to their town and then get them to leave and I have to get them as they're leaving?

He can be adopted by you if he's in boxes and you visit the town he's in to ask him to move in - as long as you have 9 or less villagers of course.

From what I've searched, it looks like it's possible but somewhat difficult. Dobie would have to be moved into someone's town, but he'd be a lot slower to move out compared to the normal villagers.

Jon_Snow has a buttload of amiibo villagers and said that they are taking forever to move out.

WA villagers can be moved out immediately by using another amiibo card.

There are some cycling towns in the villager adoption thread which offer exactly this service. There should be no difficulty in finding him. Just have a look in the adoption section.

You can actually get from someone else the WA Villagers which come from the 50 Series. The ones you can't get from others are the Sanrio, Zelda, Monster Hunter and Splatoon ones.

Yup, since he's a welcome amiibo villager he can be adopted out. Incase you're wondering, they'll be able to move out the same as regular villagers. (since it's been going around that amiibo villagers can't move out recently.)
