Question about villagers

I had a villager a few months ago and then he moved away. Now, is it possible to adopt the same villager from another town?

Every villager who moved in after he moved out? Idk how to explain but..

If you have 10 villagers and (for example) Bob moved out. And I keep the other 9 villagers but let 16 others move in and out. Can Bob move in again?

Or after Bob moved out I get rid of all the others first until they’re all gone and then let other villagers move in and out until I got 16. I assume Bob can move in then.

But does the first one work too?

the first way would work as well! it doesn’t matter which villagers move out, it just needs to be 16 villagers (any villagers) that move out after bob did before you can invite him back to your town. hopefully this makes sense, i’m not the greatest at explaining stuff, either aha.
