Question about villagers moving out.

So when a villager moves out, is it possible to get that same villager from someone else and have them move in? For example: if Julian moves out, can I simply obtain another Julian from someone else's town and get the new one to move in, or do I have to go through the entire cycle? There are a lot of villagers I wanna get back.

If you're asking the villager to move in from another person's town, then unfortunately you do have to wait for the 16 villager cycle before you can get them back.

If you have an amiibo card and scan the villager in, you can ask them to move in immediately without waiting through the entire cycle.

Nope! I wasn't able to do this with the same Amiibo of the villager.

Bruce used to live in New Town. He then moved to a different town of a person I knew and streetpassed alot. Once he was moving out if that town I decided to have him move back in New Town. I most certainly didn't go throu 16 villagers either, maybe 1 or 2 moved out after he did, but it certainly wasn't a big number.

Yeah! I agree. You can totally get the same villager again after having a different one move in first.
