Hi everyone! I've worked hard, spent a lot of bells, and I'm 2 villagers away from having my 10 favorite villagers in my town
I was wondering if, once I get all 10, is there any way for me to keep all of them without any of them moving?
Do I just have to log on every day and talk them out of moving if they try? I intend to play this game for a long time so that just sounds like a lot of work

I heard the Powersave device allows you to save and restore your game to a certain point so if anyone moves and you made a backup you could just load up that save. Unfortunately, there is no other method I am aware of that keeps a villager from moving.

Hmm okay, thanks for the answer :D I'll look into that if I get too worried about it

Generally you shouldn't be talking about any hacks in the forums, but I suppose that is one way to keep them if you have powersave.

Unfortunately, I don't have that option so I just use the rumor method. This thread should help http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?145364-Villager-Moving-Rumors-%28guide%29.

I use it everyday to keep track of who's moving in my town. I've had a complete town since last year and no one has moved without me knowing due to this method so it's very useful. Just keep talking to two or three villagers everyday until they mention a rumor (not about you as the mayor or any secondary human characters) and if they mention someone deciding to move, save quit go back into the game and find the mover to make them ping and choose for them to stay, or leave since you said you haven't gotten all 10 yet. This method works both way^^

Sometimes when you're doing daily routine stuff you should also be able to stop them so it's not that hard to maintain. Just make sure to at least check every two days if there hasn't been anyone to ping you at all.

Well, you don't necessarily have to play everyday.

Once you get a villager to ping you and say they are moving -- tell them not to, and then you can save & quit your game until next time. Even if the next time you log on is just a day later, or a week later, or any length of time, no one should have moved out because the last time you played, you told the villager who pinged you not to. Then, no one is thinking of moving. But the next time you do play, someone might ping you, so you'll have to make sure you tell the next ping not to move, too.

I also wanted to add that even without using something like in the guide I linked to, you still don't have to play every single day. If you skip just a day or so it should be fine, since villagers tend to ping at irregular intervals (between the next day after a ping or about a week) and skipping only one day shouldn't be a big deal since you'll still have plenty of days to catch up and catch up on whether anyone's thinking about moving.
