Question about villagers moving in with amiibo cards?

I was just wondering if, when you force a villager to move out by moving in an amiibo character, is it still possible to give away the villager that's moving to another town? My boyfriend has Maple and wanted to give me her after moving in a villager from an amiibo card. Will it be possible for me to bring her into my town or will she just be gone?

She should be in boxes the very day he requests her to move, so waiting until the next day she'll be gone~

I'm pretty sure that's how people trade/sell villages here on the forums using the cards!
