Question about villager acquisition

Can someone confirm or disconfirm this?

So, if I have no plots open, I will never see a villager in the island, yes?

But I may end up getting campsite villagers... right?

this is correct. if you have no open plots on your island, you won’t encounter any villagers during island tours. villagers can still visit your campsite, however, but the amount of visitors you get seems to be a lot less frequent than it was in new leaf, regardless of if there’s any space on your island ;u;

To add onto this, you can still invite random campers to live in your town. The only downside to this is that they'll ask a random existing villager to move out, and there's no take-backs -- especially if it auto-saves.

I think people who have quit the game right after the villager name was mentioned, said that it didn't auto-save and they just continued this pattern until the camper picked a villager they wanted out.
