Question about trees?

Are perfect fruit trees the only trees that become bare after seven harvests? I apologize if this is a silly question.

Is it completely random how long it takes a perfect fruit tree to die? My first one lasted for quite a few harvests longer than I expected it to before those leaves exploded off of it!

I think they can last anywhere from 4-7 or 8 harvests usually! It's random how many shakes the tree can take.
