Question about the Sanrio villagers

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but are the Sanrio villagers available for adoption just like most of the other RV-excluse amiibo villagers, or can you only get them if you have the card itself?

I've just noticed that some people who have them don't have them available to adopt when they have the other amiibo villagers.

You can only get them if you have the cards, unfortunately. The Sanrio villagers, along with Cece, Vich?, Inkwell, W. Link, Ganon, Epona, Meldi, and Felyne cannot be adopted from other towns.

keep in mind the authentic sanrio cards go for 50+... :-( they are rare and haven't been restocked for a while

No you can definitely move them in like other RV amiibo villagers, I've seen people trade sanrio villagers before using amiibo cards lol
