Question about "surprise visits"

If one of your villagers drops by your house for a "surprise visit", and you happen to be in a different room in your house, does ignoring them so they go away do anything to their friendship level?

What do you mean ignoring them? They knock and come in themselves; they leave a little bit after. I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect your friendship

No it won't affect anything, they'll just leave after a while but you still won't be able to decorate or anything either way. It technically would be faster to just talk to them and accept their gift and wait a few seconds til they say they'll leave.

Crap. Well, I just broke my streak of about three weeks of not talking to Al...now I have to start waiting all over again!

Any ideas on how to get my friendship with him down so he WON'T visit?!

If you want to get him to move, I find from personal experience that it's best to get your friendship level up with him. Villagers that you have higher friendship level with tend to move out faster.

Ugh, I'm only ever in my house to decorate so I find it extremely annoying when they come knocking >____> but yeah, you really want to maintain a good friendship with the villagers you want to move, I find the ones yours friendliest with ask the most often (what an annoying game mechanic honestly).
