Question about residents in dream addresses.

Is it possible to manually place your residents inside their respective homes instead of them wandering outside?
I have read the FAQ and it said it's random, but I believe I saw a guide somewhere stating that you could manually do it? I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on that lol.
