Question About Original Villagers

So I don't understand what the big deal is about original and non-original villagers.
I assume an original villager is one that moved to a village without help from someone else (not from a previous village) or a villager you started off with.
But can someone explain what these exactly are and why they are such a big deal?

Some people prefer how a villagers house looks if it's original - so the furniture they come with when they are game generated - versus when they've lived in other people's towns and had requests fulfilled. That's basically all it is.

In my opinion it's much more fun to adopt a villager that was loved in another town and get to know them and hear their stories.

some people like me just dont like it when there's clothes, fish and bugs in a villager's house. its just so unpleasant to look at. also, the, some of the shirts dont even match them. making them more unpleasant to look at.

For me keeping villagers homes as original as possible began when I made the fatal mistaken of giving Rod a section of a fossil. Now, I am very selective about what I give my villagers. I don't pass along gifts and Re-tail is filled with flowers and shells.

I don't particularly mind if their home has changed, I don't spend much time there :> however, I do prefer my villagers to have their original clothing and catchphrases.

I've been trying to keep my villagers' houses as original as possible after I made the mistake of giving Nate two bugs and they're unpleasant to look at when I visit.

It's too much work making sure their home and clothes are original. The only 2 I have that I don't want to change are Diana and Fauna. Diana's house and outfit look nice and I like Fauna's original outfit. So far she hasn't changed out of it.

The original thing I only learned here. I never bothered with their clothes and interiors. How am i supposed to fulfill their requests if I cant give them anything? Theyre not show pieces. I dont mind if they become really quirky haha.
