Question about kicking villagers

So I haven't been able to figure this out and was wondeing if you all could help me. I know that if YOU use an amiibo card to summon a camper to your campground, you can kick a villager out of your town to make room for them. Does this work when visiting someone elses campground too? Will it give me the option to kick from my list of villagers? Any input would be helpful, thanks everyone!
