Question about inviting Amiibo cards!

Hello everybody!

I've bought some amiibo cards for the first time last week. Gaston, Beau and Dobie.

I've scanned Gaston on saturday and sunday (yesterday). Today would be the third day to scan and invite him to live on my island. BUT..

One of my friends has a free spot on her island tomorrow. So I want to scan Gaston for the third time tomorrow, so I can kick out one of my villagers that she wants to have.

I've read somewhere that I can scan Gaston today, but NOT give him the present he wants. Scan him tomorrow again, then make the present, invite him, kick out the villager my friend wants. Everybody happy.

And now comes the question:

Can I scan an other amiicard today (Beau or Dobie) for the first time and scan Gaston's for the third time tomorrow? (so no scanning of Gaston's card today) Or will that reset Gaston's three times streak?

It's a chaotic story and question. But hopefully somebody will understand and will know the answer.

The three visits don't have to be in a row. You can use another card today and the game will remember that Gaston has already had two when you scan him tomorrow.
