Question about Gorgeous Vs Elegant Clothing...

So, generally the websites I've found outlining what falls under each class of clothing have been pretty good, but the ones that I still can't wrap my head around are Gorgeous and Elegant.

Can someone explain the difference between these two sets?

i could be wrong, but i assumed that elegant = formal whereas gorgeous = flashy/over-the-top. so a tuxedo would be elegant compared to the suit of lights which could be gorgeous (?)
