Question about gifted villager's clothes

Hi! I was wondering if someone has tried to give them a lot of new clothes and then check in their wardrobes is the old ones are gone or not. I really want to get rid of some dresses I gave to Cherry
Also, do traded villagers keep clothes gifted by their previous owner? tysm!

If you really want to, you can report the villager to Isabelle on how they're dressed. It removes all their outfits and puts them in their default clothes

Thank you for your answer, but it's not a permanent solution. It just changes the actual clothes but doesn't remove them from their wardrobes, so they can still use them later.
