Question About Bug-Catcher Badge

Hi! So, this is probably gonna sound stupid, but here goes...

In order to achieve the gold bug-catching badge, you have to catch 5,000 bugs kill me please. I'm currently working on the bronze badge (catch 500 bugs), and my question is; when you catch a bug for the first time, will it count towards that badge?

For example, when I caught all 72 bugs to complete the encyclopedia, did each of those 72 bugs count towards getting the bronze bug-catcher badge, despite me catching them for the first time?

This probably doesn't make any sense, but I'm hoping someone will be able to help me anyway.

I think so! It should, it's still a bug that you caught with your net. Whether its new to your encyclopedia or not, it shouldn't matter or make a difference towards the badge. I wish you luck.
