I was almost scammed out of part of the payment I was promised for a villager I was selling, I'm not naming names because I know that is not allowed here. What I was wondering is if I flipped the wifi switch before they tried to leave, is the villager still adoptable? I don't want to try to sell them to someone else and it not go through because the other person already talked to them, so I just need to know if I have to void him now or not :(

I think you can, since it wouldn't save. Check by going to the villager's house. If it says 'moved out', they've been voided.

If the game didn't save after the person talked to the villager, the villager is still available.

As long as it doesn't say moved out when you try to go in the house you're good :)

Okay, thanks guys! It didn't save, I was a little skeptical when they first arrived and didn't say anything to me when I said hi so I kept my finger near the button. Usually I'm very trusting about people leaving the right amount but something just didn't feel right. Hopefully someone else who has him as a dreamie will be able to adopt him still! :)

Isn't there a feedback thread you CAN report scam artists to? We all need to get fair warning if this person tries to pull the same move on any one of us. :/ Also, please report him to an admin and make sure to give a negative wi-fi feedback!

Either way that really makes me angry. How could you do that to a person, especially here on this forum? Do people really think they can get away with that kind of bull?

I definitely left the feedback and reported her to an admin, I checked the thread about blacklisting and it just said not to make posts calling people out but it doesn't have a list of people that have done something like this before or anything that I could find :( They were also using inappropriate language on the forums so I hope that an admin can address it, I've never seen anything like that happen on these boards before.

Wow. Sounds like we got a REAL winner. ><;; I'll never understand how these peoples' minds work, to ne honest. What a joke.

Im really sorry to hear about what happened.I have a question though.I am fairly new here.I used to go to another ac chat room, but their were too many scammers and trolls. The moderaters are imposible to contact and they allow certain users to behave poorly.I was hoping this site would be better and so far I really like it here.My question is, are they more strict here with people who cause a lot of trouble? Thanks.

I believe so because I've never had any problems up until now. Anyone else I've traded with on here has been nice and respectful and I've never had anyone try to scam me until now.

Many nice people here. Remember that the ratings systems is the number one leverage you have on others. If they scam you, give 'em a negative feedback and there, you can say they scammed you. I've traded with many and never had a problem. Your main culprit for trolls are people with brand new accounts and no reviews.

I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am that someone did this to you! I'm glad you were vigilant.

Thank you, I know most people on these forums are trustworthy and would not do something like that, at least intentionally!

Your negative feedback has been removed! :D

Yay :D

I didn't even know you COULD leave people feedback! :o I've never understood people scamming in a GAME. Especially one that's relatively easy to make money in. Come on, people. Get a life :p

Edit: I have no feedback. How sad. LOL!! I don't really wi-fi or trade with people, though, so that makes sense. :D

I can't believe people would try scamming, especially for a game like ANIMAL CROSSING like ????

fyi in the future if you're dealing with fairly large sums of money, I really suggest you use the retail method to transfer bells (i.e. putting items up in retail for 999,999 and having the other person buy said items). it's a lot easier to keep track off, plus there's no way for them to try and skimp the amount they need to pay.

I've never used that method but I think I'm going to give it a try next time, it does seem like it would be easier to keep track of. What do you put for sale when you use that method?

You can use anything and let the person know to buy that item. You can actually witness the item being sold. The amount doesn't go into your account until the next day, but it's far far safer.
