Can you only avoid the 16 villager cycle by using amiibo cards? Or a other question: When you
switched out a amiibo card villager with a other amiibo card villager, can you get back the first
one by adopting him from someone without doing the cycle or do you still need to do the villager
cycle to get him back in the normal way (so without move him in via amiibo card)?

Example:
Moved in Claude via amiibo card, switched him out with Toby which also moved in via amiibo card.
Can I get back Claude when I adopt him from someone without doing the 16 villager cycle or do I
only get him back when I done the cycle?

(Sorry if the question is poorly explained...)

The amiibo cards override the 16 villager cycle!! I got all my dreamies' cards as soon as I found out. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet (because none of my dreamies have moves out) but from what I've heard it works! But keep in mind, it'll be a fresh start with the villager. For example, if your "best friend" villager moves out, and you force them to move back in with the amiibo card, they will have their original house, catchphrase, clothing, and will not remember you.

If you mean you want to adopt a former villager back in without a card -- yes you still have to do the 16 villager cycle according to what everyone is saying. But if you have the card, you can just bring them right back without the cycle.
