QR Code question?

Since you need a Nintendo Online Membership to use the internet, does anyone know if you'll still be able to download QR codes through the app on your phone without having the membership? I hope I worded this correctly. I hope you don't need the membership to use this feature since it was one of my favourite's from New Leaf.

We don't know yet. But I don't really see why they should restrict this to online membership only.

i don’t think so. i might be wrong but i think the online membership is just for online play but nooklink (i think that’s the app name??) is likely going to be a free app and should be separate from the membership - you’d probably just have to pull up the qr code on your phone and then scan it to your game but i doubt that’ll be a feature for members only.

The app that you need to download is called Nintendo Switch Online and it says that "Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) required to use certain features.". I guess those "certain features" are the voice chat an certain online only features of certain games.

As for Animal Crossing, I wouldn't really know if they're going to really limit the use of the QR code app (that would suck actually), we will know whenever they release an update for the app to include support for AC
