Every time I've done a Qr of a custom sign code they never work on my game? Like they are greyed out saying I can't put them on my signs?

Is it me doing something wrong or what? I don't understand why there would be codes out there for custom signs if you can't use them in someone else's game other than the creators?

How can I make them show up on my boards :(

The face standee? I've been able to place QR Code based designs on that. If you mean the board, you can't place the QR codes on that. Maybe search up something to tell you how to do that.

Yes i mean the square board. I have seen nice signs like for arrows and that to direct visitors to places e.g. retail,

I managed to do it once with the android app which makes it ''my design'' but that's so tedious and I had to steal my mums phone to do it :(

Download Bluestacks. It works a charm for me. I download Dropbox and sign into Google and download Animal Xing Designer from Google Play. You don't need a phone as long as you can download Bluestacks.

Try copying one if you cant do that.

How does the Animal Xing Designer work, it reads a QR from someone and makes it "your own" pattern? Or do you still need to copy every pixel to your game?

I've used an online pattern tools to upload a QR code and than draw every pixel in my game. I made my own path that way. If I want to change it all I have to do it change the pallet colours. :)

Well, you can choose a new creator and town name but apart from that I think it would still be like a regular QR code.
