PSA: Cataloging a Mermaid Series furniture could prohibit you from getting the DIY

Yea he'll prob give one eventually, I'm just saying you wont get a tourney item you've catalogued before he gives you all the other prizes first. Even though you've technically never won it yourself, you've just cataloged it.
If this pascal thing is true it might be the same logic, i.e. he'll only give DIYs of items you've never cataloged first, and then repeats in random order (so it would be harder to get a full set of diys since he might give you like 5 wall DIYs or something).
Obvs none of this is proven yet though so I'm just speculating.

I've gotten all of the recipes and haven't gotten any duplicates, even though I haven't made them all yet. It could just be coincidence that I've gotten all pearls since then, but at least based on my experience the second part isn't true.

i don't know also. so far no one from here either is telling us about their experience, i was hoping i'd get more answers. how can we be sure that @AnimalC32569012 didn't complete all the DIYs yet? because i feel like if you've completed the set, you should be able to get repeats. like with fishing tourney/bug-off giveaways. it's still a new feature so we all don't know what's the situation.
if anything we're all wondering because we'd all wanted to trade stuff online, and it's gonna happen at some point. so whether it's true or not, this thread is posted so we can have a discussion if anyone experienced something.
i can actually test this out myself because i have a 2nd resident. but it might take time as i don't have much time and i don't tt.

A player can get a repeat before completing their collection. 2nd island Main player received 2 DIY cards. Both are the Mermaid Wall. The other days Pascal gave pearls. It feels like Pave Day furniture repeat day from ACNL.
With the other player and my main island players they haven't got repeats. To be safe the extra players have been placing their DIY in the basement until both islands have a full collection.

Huh... I mean I hope this isn't true, BUT if it is it could make things easier for people with multiple characters (like me). I've been giving all my crafted items to my side character, but I also have all my characters dive daily, and it'd be nice if I could avoid some multiples this way (as it is, I have an extra vanity DIY I'm trying to trade for a different one).
But, if it is legit, I'd be willing to bet it'll be patched AT LEAST in the next summer update.
