Props on Harvs island?

You know how sometimes your villagers walk around with sandwiches/fishing rods/nets/etc?

I know theres a way to dress your villagers up in different clothes but is there a way to have them do that on Harvs island as well? I want to have one of my villagers sitting on a couch reading a magazine and I just wanna know if its possible.

I haven't found a button or anything to make them do this. I really want them to now though! It would be so cute and really handy for photoshoots!
