Problem with placing wall items??

It keeps saying "you can't hang this here!" every time I try to place a wall item up :\
The weird thing is that I used to have something up there, but I took it down to rearrange my room. Now I can't put it back up or any other wall item! I tried changing my wallpaper too. Am I super ******** and missing something here?

You're not trying to do it with an object in front of that piece of wall are you ? And also you have to be right up against it, just shove your face in the wall

Make sure to not have too many things in the room either. There is a limit to items placed in a room unfortunately.

Hmm the room might be too cluttered and have max number of items already.. Or is there tall/big objects in front of the wall? Try making an empty space and stand right in front of the spot /face the wall and try >_<

Hahah thanks everyone!
I literally removed everything from the room and tried placing it on all sections of the wall, but no luck.
Restarted my game and it worked after... Maybe a glitch or something? So strange
