Present being Carried by a Balloon?

There's a way to get the present without a slingshot, all you need is a net. If the present is going the direction towards your beach, follow it (very slowly). Once it goes near the ledge, try and hit it with a net. The balloon will pop and the present will fall.

You need the slingshot which will appear eventually. When it released in Japan, some people managed to knock it down with their nets. I haven't been successful with that though.

Yeah, you can use a net to knock it down if you manage to catch it as it goes down a cliff, but it's a lot easier just to use a net.
