What are your most unexpected moments in animal crossing??

i didn't know until it happened that if you sit on a bench and someone digs a hole under you, when you get down you fall in the hole!!!!!

Possibly every time I approach a tree from behind and there's a bug on it - the sound of the bug buzzing off often startles me since it's so sudden.

I would say the most unexpected time I had was a rude visitor. Being as I used to own a shop (reopening soon yay!), a person came into my town. I gently asked them to follow me but they kept wandering off, and then suddenly bolted off into a different section of my town. I more firmly asked them to come back, and please grab their stuff before going away, and they finally got their stuff, but began to buy out all my shop items! I was so upset that I didn't get to see what was in my stores that day, so of course I was slightly mad. As if that wasn't enough they began digging up my stars! I finally gave up and excused them myself, and ended the session.
