possibly stupid plot resetting question

Okay so let's say you invite someone to move to your town on the 30th, so that means they'll be arriving on the 31st and you want to use the plot reset trick to make sure they plot in a good place.

If I don't want to wait a full day in real time for the 31st to arrive, how do i TT to the 31st? because once you get to the screen with Isabelle where you can change the date, the date change will only apply if you load the game as an already existing mayor, which obviously would save the game and ruin the plot reset chances.

so how do i time travel to the desired move in day and still be able to plot reset? i hear people talking about doing it all the time.

I hope I worded this in a way that makes sense. lol. Sorry if this is a stupid question, i just can't figure it out.

Just go to System Settings and change the 3DS clock

You can time travel with the 3DS system clock! You just go into system settings and change the date forward however many days you want.

If you don't like changing the system clock, you can TT to 5:58 AM, save and quit, and by the time you start resetting, it'll be the next day :~)

Yes, sorry, that's what I meant. You TT within the game with your mayor to 5:58 AM, save and quit, and then by the time you start your new character, they'll be in the new day!

I can't believe I never thought of this.

Just make sure to set it to the right day so you don't accidentally save that villager in a spot.

So if a villager is moving in on April 1st, set the clock to 5:58 on April 1st, save and quit and then start plot resetting once the "new day" starts at 6 AM.
