Popular Villagers Who You Dislike (besides Raymond)

I don't really like Zucker, Stitches, Coco and Lucky. They're just doesn't seem to be very alive for me, and this is extremely creepy

I respect your opinion, but I still think Punchy is better, sorry... But more people seem to like Bob, so you guys won.

Except Raymond huh...sneaky...I see what you did. Well other than the smug cat I dislike Bob. I don't understand his appeal but for some reason he is well-liked. It may seem like I dislike cat villagers but that isnt true! I love Ankha, Tangy, Kabuki and Kid Cat! Maybe its the purple or those smug looking eyes why I don't like Bob idk

I like almost all of the popular villagers, and even the ones I generally dislike I can still see an appeal for. I'm not the biggest fan of the cats in general outside of some like Raymond, Tangy, and Ankha, but at the very least I know they have a lot of history for some people (especially Bob), so I can at least respect that. But the one I cannot understand is Lolly. Seriously, I can't really understand why people like her so much. Is it the eyes? The colors? I genuinely don't know. Her design is not that interesting to me and there's way cuter normal villagers imo (where's the Vesta and Tia love at?) so I'm confused about where all the hype for her comes from.

The one I'm more baffled by, though, is Marshal. I thought he was only in the top spot in NL because his furniture set was unique or something like that, and now he doesn't have that going for him. He's far from bad and I wouldn't be angry if he popped into my town, but I also don't really see how he's universally deemed one of the top villagers. I've visited him in my friend's town a few times and I really did not care for him.

I've probably gotten every popular villagers at some point and letting them move in to see if I'd like them, except for Coco. She looks creepy to be a normal (motherly). I see her a few times on mystery islands and tried to even force myself to try her, but I could not find an explanation as to why I would lol. Also, Ankha. I had her for like a week on NL then TT'd her out. I don't like how her eyes are always looking up. I know she fits a certain theme but still.

I don’t actively dislike any but there are some where I don’t see the huge fuss, like Bob and Ankha. *hides from angry mob* and definitely, number one confusion is Marshal. He’s...just a white squirrel? I don’t get how he’s the top villager for so many.

and I don’t think she’s a “popular” or high tier villager, but I truly do not understand the fanatic dedication to Jambette I have seen on this board.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of most of the popular villagers. Lolly is the only Tier 1 villager I've ever had and loved.

I dislike Judy's design (she just . . . doesn't look like an animal villager? At all?)
Audie would be okay except for the perpetual glasses.
Chrissy and Francine also don't match the design style of the other villagers in a way that really throws me off to look at.
Stitches is just a little creepy, being a stuffed animal with stitched eyes.
Diana's design doesn't appeal to me.
Zucker looks like food and I'm just . . . really not here for that, I guess.
Apollo is okay, I just don't really like the eagle model. I'm super curious why he's so incredibly popular! No hate towards him at all, it just seems like all the Tier A/S villagers fit the same cutesy pastel vibe, same general proportions (think deer, cats, dogs, cubs) and all villagers of larger or more unusual shapes (gorillas, hippos, mice, anteaters) are rejected as ugly, so Apollo's crowds of adoring fans seem really out of left field. I would expect the top-tier Cranky to be one of the wolves, Murphy, Tom, Octavian, etc.

Marshall. I LOVE squirrels, but I just can't with him. He just looks like an arrogant little schoolboy. Probably due to his hair, which look intentionally flattened and really reminds me of that type of person.

It's actually a similar reason to why I don't like Raymond.

I also don't like Sherb... someone here in another thread described Sherb as being deep into uncanny valley.. which is exactly the right description.

I saw someone say Marshal looked like Draco Malfoy and I felt like crying because he really does and I’d somehow never noticed lol. Totally get where you’re coming from

I like Coco in theory...but not in practice. There's actually a couple of villagers I feel that way about (Bob, All the Octopuses)

Dislike is a strong word but I'm not fond of: Merengue, Ankha, Coco, Julian (I just dont like horses in general), Francine, Chrissy, Stitches, Tangy

And overall any villager that looks like they have... hair... lmao if that makes sense. Like Felicity or that one snooty duck (forgot her name, I just call her the karen duck)

i feel as if i have finally found my people to finally read that others don't like judy lol........ LITERALLY thought i was going nuts when i saw how highly she ranked! i'm glad so many people like her, but i do find her design very off-putting and it stands out from a lot of the other characters' looks, and not necessarily in a good way to me haha

i also don't get the Raymond hype but i do think a lot of it is bandwagon so *cough*

Sherb and Dom. I don't see the appeal. Sherb reminds me of a frail kid I used to know in elementary school, and I don't really care for Dom's eyes or shirt.
