Poll: Doughnut or Donut?

I know that the proper way to spell it is doughnut but I always have spelled it donut.

That's reasonable. Honestly I spell it both ways too depending on how my moods is. Donut if i'm feeling lazy, doughnut if i'm writing some serious paper or something. I dunno lol

interchangeably use both terms but i end up using doughnut more i guess? like sometimes ill be talking (actually typing) and the word changes throughout. donut is cute but feels weird (not as weird as doughnut - doughnut feels like one of those professionally made kinds with lots of pecans and in a nice wax paper wrapper while donut makes me think of those white powdered ones/homemade donuts made by kids and or highschool students. i associate lots of stuff with certain words)

I just say/spell donut. If I ever have to write a film paper about doughnuts though.

I probably use donut out of habit. I guess its just an easier spelling so its easier to sell the product to simple peoples. It's just an abbreviation though so over time i'm sure it'll become the 'correct' way cos language and such. So don't be a grammar nazi or w.e and try to correct people because stuff like this changes all the time, just spell it how you want and soon enough one way will be so popular that it'll seem wrong to do it the other
