Is anyone else playing the new Pokémon TCG Pocket mobile app?

I downloaded it a few days ago and I'm enjoying it so far. It fulfills the urge to open Pokémon card packs without spending real money on the physical thing!

Yes. I used to love collecting pokemon cards and I got back into it recently, so I was interested in this app when they announced it. I haven't tried any battles or anything just yet. I've just been collecting cards and mission rewards for the time being. It's pretty neat though.

as a collector of the cards IRL, I'm so gonna be downloading this! I just wish we could transfer our IRL collection to the app via scanning the card. I have a TON of cool cards (Radiant Jirachi my beloved)

I’ve been playing it and so far I’ve collected over 300 cards. I managed to pull full art Bulbasaur and Meowth cards on my first two booster pulls.

One thing that surprised me is how there is no resistance on the cards. Feels weird knowing that Pikachu can now damage a Cubone normally.

oh youre right! i never noticed that :0 the irl cards i collect mostly have no resistances too so i never batted an eye in-game hehe

I was playing the solo battles and discovered it when I kept getting my Dark type cards damaged normally by Psychic cards. Then I hit a Fearrow normally with Onix and it dawned on me that Resistance doesn’t exist in this game.

I am! I preordered the app a few months ago and was excited when I got the notification that it was ready to download. I wasn’t sure what to expect, like if it was going to be how it is, or if it was going to be a digital repository for your physical cards. I figured it wasn’t too far fetched to have a card recognition aspect associated with the camera.

i've been playing this since launch, and it's a lot of fun !! i almost never buy cards in-store just because of the price and gacha aspect, so the vast majority of mine are all secondhand from yard sales and stuff, but using this app to open two packs a day for free has really scratched that itch for me! idk much about the friend functionality, but my ID is 6454-9043-9429-8903

Yeah I've been playing it! I'm really liking the idea of a simpler version of ptcg and how the battles go quicker. I'm a long time collector and it just seems like a nice fresh start after playing so much tcg live which gets overwhelming with trying to keep up with everything that's always going on there. honestly, even for as simplistic as this format is, I wasn't expecting to get it done this fast


I guess it's a good thing for players in general though, that the timeline to completion seems very lax
