Pokémon Pokémon Pokopia

The game is sold out in my area, but in the meantime i would love to know if anyone has seen creators dedicated to landscaping for the game? I want to see impressive builds lol.

I bought the game digitally and honestly it isn’t a very large sized game either. It’s only 6 GB which is half of Kirby and the Forgotten World plus Star Crossed Worlds. There’s a special Dream Island that players can visit that Nintendo I believe has created using an item called the Mysterious Goggles and entering a special code.

I had to shorten mine, lol. I picked up a habit from when I hatched my first lab Ditto on PokeHeroes. I named it Miracle Blob.... And it kinda stuck, lol.

So, I named myself Miracle.

So, for comparison, I have the last two iterations of me, Azzy, and then my Ditto Miracle, short for Miracle Blob.

I didn't have my physical copy of Legends Arceus in and I look different in Sword because I was still trying to decide if I wanted to go back to red... and then I got so used to seeing myself with black hair and my Fairy-type outfit that changing it to red didn't look right XD

Anyways, I have the Pokemon Center building rn and I can't do anything in the meantime- even though Charmander is big mad about getting wet and wanting a leaf den that I can't build him. Just found Pecha berries too. Now I'm just waiting for everything to be sorted so I can finish up the tasks I have for myself and go through the first gate~

I'm having way too much fun.

And for anyone who didn't figure it out already- I only got Oddish and Hoothoot last night because I forgot they only come out at night and the time goes off of real time. Because I'm intelligent 🙃

I was expecting the Hoppip event item cost to be high due to the ease of collecting cotton spores, but they're 5-10 spores each! Already have a number of them. 😊

I've 20hrs on the game so far and can absolutely see myself getting more gameplay out of this than ACNH (~500hrs). Having so many areas to work in makes it so fun. I've not focused too heavily on design yet, prioritising the story for now, but I'm looking forward to it when I get there!

How do I begin this event? I plan on start it after work today

Go to the (completed) Pokémon Center in the Withered Wasteland. I believe it needs to be during the day, but maybe that was just for the event start. E.g. I logged in a half hour after Nintendo stated it would launch and Hoppip wasn't there but it was nighttime. When I logged in after dawn they spawned. But time travelers were able to experience it early so not a late update issue.

Still taking my time with the game. Just befriended Machoke, Kricketot, and Scorbunny. Also got more Cotton Spores for Hoppip. I renamed Pallette Town to Rainbow City.

I bought the game for my girlfriend since she asked for it. I'm having crazy FOMO right now and I really want to play it, but I told myself I wouldn't play it until I finish 2-3 more games.

But yeah I've been watching her play it, and seeing it's a combination of Dragon Quest Builders and Viva Pinata, it makes want to play it even more.

If your girlfriend has the event items, you can take a photo of them in Reference Mode and 3D Print the event items even after the event ends.

I didn't know Hopip was an event o.O Might need to put a higher priority on dream islands...

I'm not only addicted, but up a creek of my own design without a paddle. Literally no one in my circle has the game or will in the near future, but they all want to.... Meaning I can't talk about the game at all. I need someone to talk theories with as I progress before I combust.

I've been enjoying the game, but I do have to say that I've been disheartened at how a shockingly low number of my favorite Pokemon are included in the game, which makes it a disappointing experience for me. It's kinda sad to play an Animal Crossing-like Pokemon game and know that your favorite Pokemon aren't even there. =( Of course they just had to go make it Kanto based so the majority of the Pokemon are Gen 1 Pokemon... Dear TPC, that shtick is so old, come on now. But if you're going to favor Gen 1 Pokemon can you not at least include
Galarian Ponyta/Rapidash and Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales?

I finished the story. Onto designing! 🥳

First area kind of cheating as the soil and fencing were here to begin with. But it seemed the most obvious place to put a hut.

A cabin housing four 'mons, and Swablu lives in the garden for now, as I destroyed their habitat bulldozing and setting up this area.

Clefable fountain area.

And I made a little house in the back of the waterfall for the other Pokémon whose habitats were ruined by the decorating.

Maybe I'll be brave enough to tackle my own proper house build soon. 🤔

I completed the main story line last night. Now I'm working on a cloud island with my bf! :3 Getting environment levels up is also NO joke. I look forward to see if they add DLC. This has become one of my favorite games of all time!!

This game is tempting me to get a Switch 2 but I know I wouldn't even play anything else so it's not worth it.

Can I ask why you don’t like it? As someone looking to get it at some point
Some of it is definitely personal taste—I’m not a huge fan of more open-ended, sandboxy sim games. In my opinion, though, there’s too much to balance with all the habitats between areas, the areas feel kind of cramped for building, and there’s a fair amount of clunkiness and tedious tasks (e.g. Pokédex opening repeatedly, inventory management, having to water everything). It’s getting to be a bit overwhelming for me. I also don’t feel encouraged to build anything while playing through the story despite my pockets overflowing with furniture.

It’s not bad by any means, I’m just not vibing with it as someone who is more of a casual player. There’s a lot going on, and I don’t want to / have the time to do it all. 😅

I love what you’ve done so far! It’s super cute! 🤩

I’ve been watching some people play this and I have to say the game looks amazing and much better than I expected it to be. There are a few things I don’t like such as the whole thing with real time (like some crafting takes 2 days), and as much as I like how much bigger it is than I thought, I see it as both a good and bad thing since for me, I have a hard time keeping my focus and interest in a game (even if I like the game a lot) and the more there is, the more overwhelmed I get and less I get done. I also can definitely see myself getting motion sick if I played the game seeing how the camera is; reminds me of the bit I played of minecraft and every time I got nauseous.

What I like so far is the lore/story, though it also seems pretty depressing at times. It makes me want to replay some of the older pokemon games and play some that I didn’t have a chance to.
At the same time, it makes me think a little of cats left behind in Palestine because of the conflict and also a bit of the mentality behind some of those displaced (at least from over 50 years ago since many even now have their key thinking one day they’d be able to return home). The situation is obviously different in the game and there, yet something keeps making me think of the pictures that I saw frequently and what I’ve read.

I love that you can play some of the older games music. It really brings me back when I hear them 🙂.

The furniture is really cute! There is a lot I’d love to see in ACNH (along with other gameplay features).

As others mentioned, the interactions between Pokemon is really cute.
