Pokémon Pokémon Pokopia

I'll be honest and say I haven't really done any research on this and kind of half-listened to the direct, but it's really cute! It reminds me of a mix of Animal Crossing, Stardew, and Minecraft. I'll probably check it out and I think there's a demo so I'll try it! I'm a little bothered by the whole gamecard thing though...

Me and my little sister watched the trailer with our parents and we all immediately fell in love. I especially love Smearguru and Mosslax! The goofy Ditto MC has me hooked. Sadly, I don't own a Switch 2, so we'd have to share our father's.

Nice to hear that players can interact with town even if the player is offline (server stored in a cloud). This is really cool! If you're planning on working on a town with friends, I imagine the town can progress despite not being able to be online all the time :)

The game looks really nice! At first I was not into it but the more I see the more I enjoy the gameplay. I stopped a long time ago to purchase games at release but I can totally see myself buying it down the line. Best part is my husband is also interested so we could play together.

I stopped buying Pokemon games a long time ago because it is just not a good game anymore… So I hope this one can break the cycle.

Honestly this game was an instant "no" for me because, try as I might, I can't get over the on-model Pokemon clashing with the goofy ditto-person. I also don't think they fit in with the setting, but I've found that to be more of a me thing.

I will not pretend to know better about game design, or what had to be done to finish the game on time, but personally I'm an art direction snob and I think I would probably have given this game the time of day if the other pokemon had models just for this game. Even if they were simpler, like those cube-y Pokemon Quest ones.

For me, while I like the overall design/art style, I really dislike the interior decor items.

Big agree with this.

On paper this sounds like exactly my kind of game but I just don't wanna be that ditto human character. I'd really prefer if the player could just be a Pokemon (more like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon) or even a ditto version of a Pokemon (with ditto face) rather than a human.

Hide and seek via multiplayer and you can be random items?
now I want a switch 2 just for this game DX
Real! I'd like to play with you if I could ;w;

When I saw the hide-and-seek I was like, "this better not the only thing we can do in multiplayer 🙏" because of the ACNH flashbacks I immediately got. At least the ability to transform into objects makes it more challenging and fun.

Also love how they let us collaboratively build things, and that it will be included at launch. We ACNH players never got anything close to that about 6 years ago... until the 3.0 update IIRC. Regardless, I'm still hoping their multiplayer isn't bare-bones.

I'm amazed this is a game card release, since the presents trailer really tells me they have a lot of faith in the game. which imo, a game card release indicates the opposite to me

I wasn't sure if I'd want to get Pokopia or not when it was first revealed, but now I think it looks like it'll be fun. The stuff they showed in the Pokémon Presents today made me even more excited for it
