Is it possible that currently this game is more annoying than Super Smash Bros?

I've been plot resetting for 20 minutes now. I had missed 3 spots to put patterns and the game keeps putting houses in the 3 spots I missed instead of the in the 6 spots I currently have open for houses.

Can this get any more annoying? -_-
It took me two weeks to find a map I like and this game is trying to mess my plans for my town with these doggone random house placements.

Someone make me feel better please. :(

Maybe you can have someone proof your town to see if you have any missed spots? Just have a different set of eyes scoping out your map. It might help.

I'm likely going to take a break in a few minute

Sometimes this game is ridiculous, it's not even funny.

Hmm, never thought of doing that. Good idea.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwww, poor Happy Tails......it is sympathy you want, isn't it? :D There you go...

It keeps putting the house in the same spots. I'm past frustration, now i'm angry. It took me TWO WEEKS, again TWO WEEKS to find this map. I have everything planned in my head on where I want everything and the game keeps putting houses in areas that are messing up my plans.

Try placing a pattern every other square and leave they plots you'd like them to stay at. That's been working for me :)

I'll have to do that with my mayor character and I can't load my mayor character until the house is in an ideal location

The last 5 resets it's just continuously placing the new house here

I do not want this house here.

This is so frustrating

I gave up. I just let it place the house whereever it wanted.

For a game that say even on the box say 'Build a town that fits your style" it sure makes that difficult by making sure to put houses in spots where it's impossible to make the town how you want.

I'll just ignore that villager and hopefully they will move out quickly. This is just ridiculous.

Whenever I forget to place the pattern and the villager is being stubborn, I TT back the day before they move in and place the patterns in the spot. That usually works for me, but some people don't like TTing. Good luck with your future plot resetting!

plot resetting literally frustrates me so much to the point where i consider not even doing it.

but i find taking breaks and having things to distract me from my frustrations help

I don't time travel so I'm going to have to deal. I'm going to make that villager feel very unwelcome in my town, hopefully that will convince them to move out. I mean for now, that spot isn't really THAT much in the way, it's just in the way of a path I'm planning on putting there later, hopefully they will be gone before I start landscaping.

I'm not going to dwell on my anger anymore. What's done is done. At least they didn't move right in front of the train station or town hall.

I have 10 villagers right now that all moved in before the update, and I'm thinking of trading 2 of them for new ones. What guide did you use for plot resetting since the update?

Villagers won't move on paths since the update. So if you cover your town in paths, they won't move on them. However, if you miss a spot, they will squeeze their house there, so plot resetting is a good idea. Also, make sure you have an empty space for them to move or they will move on top of paths. I think villager houses need a space of 3x3 but someone can correct me on this.

I was so frustrated I was about to stop playing all together. i get frustrated and angry way to easily.

giiiirl i know that feel- i've been plot resetting in all my spare time today, trying to get punchy to move into the spot i left for him, but he keeps plotting where the old villager used to be (i asked him to move in from an amiibo card)... it's been 24 resets, which is not the most times i've had to reset, but the fact that it's the same! exact! spot! every! single! time! is disheartening :')

in all other plot resetting conquests, at least the plot moves between 2-3 spots before finally settling where i want it to, but this time, it's just the same plot every single one of the 24 times :(

i will persevere!

I know it's really tough, but sometimes a villager just locks their house in a place you don't want and you can't move them no matter how many times you reset. It happened to me with Vivian, but I actually ended up really liking where she plotted and she has a super cute area near my bell PWP. A town is never going to be perfect or exactly the way you want it - sometimes you just have to make the best with what you have.

Oh my... I know how you feel - It took an hour of plot resetting to get a villager that came from the void to move to the spot my last villager moved out, which was the only good spot I had in town.

One thing I did, however, was I switched around the scout villager's appearance each time, and noticed the move-in spot kept changing when I did this... Probably superstitious on my part, though.

I meeeean it could be worse right? It was much more difficult before the update and not even patterns could save you. Hunting shiny Pokemon makes this seem like nothing. Perfectionists might hate this game lol

Hey, maybe if you're getting frustrated, get some friends over at your place to help you plot reset and place down the paths. Get them to check through the whole town to see if the 3x3 spot you wanted would not be occupied by some other spot. That's what I did when I had trouble. My 3 friends came over, and within 10 minutes we had covered the whole town map and placed paths within 3x3 spaces, ready for Chrissy to move in. The next day, we were successful and Chrissy moved in to where I wanted her to move.

I did the pattern thing only I missed a place and didn't realize and now Coltons house is 1 block away from the stone around my train station. Right. In. Front. Of. It. My plans for the train station are on hold for a while now so I feel your pain.

I've heard that villagers summoned by amiibo characters tend to place their house where an old villager had been before if they kicked out that villager.

I have seriously never had any plot setting woes until today. I received willow which is a dreamie of mine and she would not set where I wanted her to. I left a patch of land uncovered and I tried restarting more than 30 times and she plotted herself on that same piece of land ALWAYS. That bothered me so much because that was seriously the only part of my town completed and she was trampling it. Anyways I decided to risk it and traveled back in time an hour before 6 am , and surprise! She had not set... so I went back and covered the patch of land and when I tried resetting again, she stayed where I wanted her to.

Just thought I shared this for anyone who had the same trouble.
