Wondering if anyone can help me out here...

Had a feeling a new villager would be moving in from a friend's void today so started up a new save just in case. Sure enough, Rocket has a plot marked out. Was in a less than favourable position so went to the home screen, closed the software, reopened and started a new save again. Rocket's plot was in the exact same space. This has happened four times now. Is this just complete luck or have I messed up somewhere? The game was still loaded from the day before, I just had my 3DS closed (in sleep mode), don't know if that affects it in some way?

I'll be super annoyed if I'm stuck with the plot. I've only just managed to shift Tipper from there! 😫

Can you describe exactly (in full detail) what you did to try and prevent a voided villager from moving in ^^?

Could be that your town is really cluttered and the plot has limited spawn spots? How cluttered is your town, approximately?

Try turning the 3ds off with the power button instead of the home button. Sometimes that works

To me, that sounds like you closed the 3DS with the game still running until the next day?
In that case, what's likely to have happened is you went over the 6am town reset time and when you opened your 3DS to resume playing the plot was decided during the initial "next day" save.

Hmm, I've had problems with Zell plotting in the SAME spot for a long time when I was plot resetting however occasionally he would move his house around. I say give it a few more tries because it could just be the game but if she keeps plotting in that one spot, it might be that your game registered the new day while your 3DS was in sleep mode so she will stay there permanently.

I think Kaioin has hit the nail on the head. I think by you leaving the DS on sleep mode overnight then when the game booted when you opened it the next day it's also saved.

I was worried leaving it in sleep mode had done that.

I'll try it a couple more times just in case, but thanks for your help guys! I'll be sure to turn the damn thing off in future! Haha

Glad I tried it one more time, the plot moved! 5 times in a row it was in the same space! What are the odds?! At least we know that leaving it open in sleep mode doesn't affect it now though haha.

If at any point in that day you have pressed continue with the plot there it might of saved the space. If it be your mayor or side character doesnt matter. Sometimes when starting a new file it doess actually show it hasnt moved ive had it happen a few times try again and see if it happenss.

I know for me this has happened because of fake rocks... So no when I am expecting a new villager I make sure there is absolutely NOTHING in the area I want them to plot so it is more likely for them to go there!
