I've heard a number of stories about the villager plot trick and data/game cartridges becoming corrupted. Does anyone know if this is true or false? I'd like to perform the trick sometime but I'm scared incase my data is corrupted.

I'd like to hear what you think and your experiences of using this trick. :)

I plot reset Papi (untill I got bored of it lol), and nothing happened. I never even heard of this happening tbh

as with everyone else, I've plot reset a looooot and nothing's ever happened lol. and I've honestly NEVER heard any first-hand accounts of people's towns corrupting due to plot resetting.

I have heard that there's (possibly) some correlation between the two, though I personally have plot reset hundreds of times with no issues. Data corruption is likely more common with digital copies of ACNL as well, so there's that to keep in mind.

I've plot reset hundreds (maybe thousands) of times, both on my digital and physical copies and never had a single problem with either of them.

I plot reset many times without corruption, like many of the above have done as well.

I have 3 physical copies and 1 digital and I plot reset for every villager. It's always been fine. I've never heard of this.

I plot reset and ive never had a corruption

I will pay u 1 million bells if u get a corruption while plot resetting (unless u did some dumb **** like quitting while saving) its a safe thing bro

I never say if my data hasn't corrupted. I'm not saying it hasn't corrupted, and I am saying that to make sure I'm not jinxed now. I never want corruption, and I believe in jinxing yourself by saying it's never happened and it happens.

Like others have said I believe it'll only happen if you don't let it finish saving or something stupid.

Thank you so much for all your responses! I'm glad none of you have experienced corrupted data from the plot reset trick. This puts my mind at rest a bit, lol.
