Plaza in the Center of Your Town?

I would have liked to have it in the center but I don't really care. My town hall is in the center though.

My ideal town would be that the plaza was in the middle, but I gave up an saw a town layout I liked, the event plaza is on the left but I really don't mind that.

I didn't really understand what any of the buildings were except for the plaza, but I didn't care so much about that, I cared more about all the other buildings (I assumed they were shops) being more towards the street. My plaza did end up being in the center though, the bottomish center, but still the center. With the exception of the massive amounts of ponds, I quite like my layout.

I had a town with my plaza in the center and U shaped river. I ended up resetting as it was a lot of wasted space and the U river is so inconvenient. Now my plaza is to the right of the train station and my town hall is on the left.

My plaza is in the center of my town. Didn't really care where it was located, although it has turned out to be pretty convenient.

I wanted mine in the center because it feels like the heart of the town, but most of the layouts I see with it in the center are very limited on space due to the river(including my own.)

The space is limited due to two fairly thick slivers on either side and then some remotely useless space near the very top. I'm happy with it, but I do have some complaints and have some town envy towards people with wide space.

It seems like having the plaza in the center would kind of get in the way of public works projects, but I suppose if you have other space it's fine. I reseted my town a ton though! I ended up getting one I liked with a lot of open room (although it does have that top river cut off like in the above post, but it isn't too bad since I know what I'm gonna do with it ^^)

I was concerned about that too but after time I realised that it's not the most important thing. I just didn't want it by my train tracks for some reason. Mine's on the bottom half of the river.

Our maps are really similar so I feel your pain man. :<
The main difference I guess (except for it being a mirrored version) is that my villagers live in a more concentrated area so I have some space at least.

I wasn't really concerned over the placement of my town plaza. Well... to be honest, I didn't even know what the significance of the icons on the maps were! xD But my layout ended up pretty awesome! And it required zero resetting! :D My town hall and Re-tail are both up in the northwest portion, near my train station. The town plaza does happen to be near the center but a little to the north, distancing itself from my river that goes through the southern portion of my town. I have only one pond which is perfectly right in front of (but a little to the east, it doesn't obstruct the entrance!) Re-tail's entrance. Most of my current PWPs highlight this nice-looking area, actually! I have room for an orchard, a park by the river's edge featuring a rather large flower garden, and I'm planning a camping grounds, but all I have so far for an appropriate PWP is the campsite. >_<

Yup, I have big plans for HK Town!!!

I didn't think much about the placement of anything other than the beaches to begin with. My plaza is pretty much in the bottom left corner of my town with not much else around it apart from greenery. My plan is to add the cafe to the land to the right of it and that will be it. I am at the stage now where I am terrified of letting anyone move out or in as I'm really pleased with the layout of my town.
