Playing a Seasonal Town

To anyone having a seasonal town, or those who have considered it:
How to you go about playing your town?

Say, if you want to specifically have a autumn neighborhood, do you just play during that season and time-travel to the next year's season? Is it more just about the time you set your Dream Town to?

I'm asking because I've become interested in making a seasonally themed town, but just can't imagine myself playing in only one season without getting bored eventually. I'm thinking of making it mainly for the fun of designing and possibly displaying later for others

I've never done a seasonal town, but my friend, who doesn't play anymore sadly, had this incredible town and it was seasonal but it changed every season. He would spend a while on the start of every season just redecorating his town. It kept him constantly entertained and he never got bored. if I ever restart, that's what I'll do.

i hate october to march in game so in one of my towns i've just gone back to spring when i've gotten close to october. i would travel forward but because i have dirt paths i don't want to ruin them.
