Placing items on stools?

I mean, no? it’s a creative use of an object with the limited tables we have and as others have pointed out, plenty of people do it irl. you don’t have to if you don’t want to though!

Yeah. With the lack of tables, I use stools/chairs, ironwood chairs to be specific, as mini tables.

I use the log benches while decorating. If you combine them with stalls and put items on them it gives it a stacked look and it looks really good. Also if you need a place for your snapping turtle to go I recommend benches or on top of your snack machines!

But can you really place stuff on everything you can sit on? Like, all the chairs/benches/etc.? If yes,,,

You can't put anything on a chair that has a back, I'm pretty sure. Arcade seat? No problem. Diner chair? No go.

Yeah i use the stone stools for displaying small fossils like the ammonite and Flick's models the outdoor bench is also pretty good for displaying items

I just don't get why I can put a candle on a wooden log stool and not a tree stump. They're essentially the same thing

i think it's dope considering it wasn't a thing in new leaf until the update which let you put items on stools, sit on cushions and sit on the cushion on the stool. mind blown.

also a lot of stools low key look like small tables so i think it just makes sense. it would be kind of cool to be able to put things on chairs too, it feels realistic to me because i always put things on the chairs in my room

I don't think I've ever put anything on stools in AC yet, but I've done it in real life. Never really thought of it as a 'design choice,' it's just that sometimes a stool is an available surface lol.
