I heard about that from my friend who is really into D&D, but I can't remember the full conversation since it was a while ago. There have been a lot who have stopped supporting them, finding alternatives, or creating their own versions, but from what QueenCobra mentioned it sounds like this creator isn't looking to create a legitimate experience and more likely scamming or piggybacking on the attention this is bringing.

Now she’s moving to Finland, after taking everyone’s money. Fishy.

Since a lot of members came back expecting Camp 2025 or summer events and when they saw there weren't going to be any they left. And while I'm not trying to defend anything that happened back when a lot of members first left, if I had a forum where a good portion of the community only came to the place to do events I would probably be discouraged to put a lot of effort into events as well.
I mean truthfully, this community really hinges on two things: an Animal Crossing game that is relatively new and that people are still playing, and community events. New Horizons was released five and a half years ago now (holy poop I feel old hehehe), and I quit playing actively quite a long time ago, so I would come here to participate in events and chat with people. since concerns have come to light and have basically put all events on hold until further notice, there's not much reason for me personally to come here much anymore. especially now that I feel particularly uncomfortable sharing anything personal on a public forum. and I'm sure that others can relate too.

it's sad that the staff have seemingly disappeared; I hope they're at least working on stuff behind the scenes. it'd be nice if they could rehaul their system and rules with members' concerns in mind, and come back with a more welcoming community. I know that's much easier said than done since you can't please everyone. but I'm a discord moderator/admin to a relatively large and public community, and it's very chill there. I know the staff here are capable of doing great things with this forum. I do at least think that the criticism concerning events (especially the way that staff favourites are chosen) is very valid, and I hope they seriously consider them.

anyway, hope everyone is doing well today 🫶

The Lifetime movie "Identity Theft of a Cheerleader" is based on a true story. The true story is actually funnier, as the lady got caught-- not only for looking older than the other students --but for crying when asked to do trigonometry. (That part is relatable, though lol.)

Oh yea totally. I was just saying I can definitely see how that would make someone feel burned out if they had to keep making big events to keep the activity going. I know I wouldn't be able to handle that kind of workload with my life and all I have going on. I wasn't trying dismiss anything that happened on the forums.

Last year we had a ton of events. And yea, I know there's other pressing matters, but I agree also with your last part. And many were looking forward to summer camp teams. And I've found them all super fun, but they're also really unbalanced. And I don't know how they could ever fix that.

Apparently there's a squirrel out in California that's been attacking people. It even sent 2 people to the ER. Crazy.o_O

That's scary.

Not in California. But just a few days ago. My brother came across this large squirrel with what I believe were their kids. My brother said that the squirrel was near the door of his house watching him until something scared them off.

Rainy weather over here = random power outages throughout the day.

The power went out last night and now this morning. When I was a kid living in the Bronx, I remember the whole area going completely dark in the summer. I always found it both scary and fun, especially playing outside in the streets. The neighborhood kids would come out, too. But now, power outages are just annoying and inconvenient.

Last time, I was in the middle of writing when the power decided to go out. I was so mad, lol but I'm the type who saves constantly, so fortunately I didn't lose anything. But I stopped writing for the rest of that day.

Looks that way. I just looked it up. It won't happen until December 31st so pretty much the start of the new year. It seems short, but really Doug Bowser started in 2019. The whole pandemic just really skewed my perception of time.
I was gonna say, it seemed like he just took on the position not that long ago haha

There’s a picture of him next to the new person going around with him in black and white and her in full color. I get he’s leaving, but why did they make it look like he passed away? 😂
